He's Crawling!!!

I interrupt this for a brief announcement....Johnathan is a crawler now!!! He started a week ago on Thursday, April 8th, 2010. (He was 8 1/2 months old). It was the day we flew home from Spokane. Nate picked us up around 2:30pm, and when we got home, we all immediately took a nap. We woke up to very wierd shwooshing sounds on the baby monitor. It worried me, so I had Nate quickly go check him. Then I heard on the monitor, "Wooo, we'll have to tell Mommy what you did!". Nate had walked in the nursery and found Johnathan SITTING UP by himself! He had never pushed up to sitting by himself before. So that was exciting. And the sounds we heard were...he had his arm through the bars and had the monitor cord. So that day we quickly dropped the crib to the lower level and moved it away from any cords he could reach.
Then we took him out to the living room to play. And right in front of our eyes, he just started crawling. We put something enticing enough in front of him, and he started crawling to get it! It was amazing! He waited till we were back home with Daddy to show us he could crawl. It is SO amazing to watch him figure it out himself and to watch him grow. So much fun! Of course now, he is into everything!

This was April 4th, 2010 on Easter day. I was on my Spokane trip from April 4th - 8th

Easter Dinner

I had a great time going to Easter Dinner at my Mom's house! The Burnham's were there (minus Brian), and Jen and the Girls, and Grandma. So fun to get everyone together again. I left Johnathan at the Pennock's house so he could sleep and be with Jan that full day. I got to my Mom's JUST in time for the girls easter egg hunt. It was soooo adorable. Leia kept screaming, "I FOUND ONE!!!!".
Our placecards at the dinner table was a hard boiled egg with our name on it. Very cute. We had a yummy Ham dinner and kind-of a potluck. Marc gave us a very neat "missionary" prayer. And we heard a lot of cool stories about India. What a fun Easter.

Cousin Marc from India

So this guy here was the whole reason I came to Spokane now in the first place. This is my cousin Marc Burnham who is a missionary in India with "Youth with a Mission" or YWAM. He has been there for about 5 years, and he is back in the United States for 3 months to apply for a 10 year visa to go back to India. He was here for a brief short time, so I wanted to jump on it to go see him. I had never talked with him since he changed his life and became a christian. So I really wanted to talk with him about that and meet the "different" Marc. He was at my wedding but I really had no time to talk to anybody on that day.

He is now engaged to an Indian girl and they are planning on getting married in India next year 2011. And then they are going to get married again here in Hawaii for his side of the family. We hopefully will be able to go to that wedding! But after that, they will probably live in India for at least 15-20 years. So I won't get to see much of my cool cousin. But we had such a blast talking and seeing each other with the family again. It was a neat time.
ps. He is funny because he has an indian accent now.

Tractor Boy, and Pennock's Horses

Here's some more great outdoor shots of Johnathan. Daisy the dog almost gave him a kiss in that one. : ) And there was a funny miscommunication about the first picture (that I didn't find out about until Nate spoke with his Mom on the phone and then I looked at these pictures). So I told Jan I wanted a picture of Johnathan up on the tractor. So then she started to get up on the tractor seat with him, and I go, "No, I want just him sitting in the seat". I thought I had said, "Just hang on to him with your hand", but I don't think Jan heard me. So I was busy looking through the camera lens and I didn't see she let go of him. And she thought I was crazy to have her let go of him! She thought I was quite the bold Mom. : ) Ohhh man. Thank goodness it wasn't a tragic miscommunication. : )

At the Pennock's House

I took these cute outdoorsy pictures at the Pennock's house on Easter. It was such a beautiful day there! Look at Patches in the corner of the 2nd one. : ) Johnathan loved being outside there.

Baby's 1st Easter

Johnathan and I spent his first Easter by flying to Spokane, WA to go visit the family! It was such a fun trip and I'll show you the best pictures. Nate couldn't go because of PhD school. But I made it through the plane flights alone with a baby fine...although QUITE exhausting! Here he is at the Pennocks house. Grandma Jan bought him a cute bib for the day. : )

Ridin' the Sled

Johnathan loves this new "game" of being pulled around on the sled. He loves it and rides the sled in style. Well shortly after that, Denver our cat, wanted to show him up. He actually rode around on it too...no joke.
