Ryan Andrew Pennock

Here he is! Ryan Andrew Pennock, born on Wednesday, January 18th, 2012 at 5:48 am. He weighed 7 lbs 12 oz and was 20 inches long. He's a healthy little boy and our family is very blessed.

In the Hospital

Here's my girls again...Love them all so much. I felt like the luckiest patient in the world. It was actually a great birth experience.

Here is Johnathan's first meeting with his baby brother Ryan. He met him about 10:30am after Ryan's 5:48am birth time. They exchanged gifts with each other. (Something I've seen other patients do with the birth of their second child). Johnathan gave Ryan a big Elephant stuffed animal. And Ryan gave Johnathan a BIG Buzz Lightyear, just like in the movie. He loved it! And he loves his brother too. : )

Cute little Ryan Andrew in his first outfit of ours.

My Dad and stepmom came that day to Colorado to help us out while in the hospital (and the week after). My Dad was the first family member to meet Ryan.

In Labor, and less than 2 hrs later...

So I went into labor very quickly and went into the hospital at 4 am on January 18th, 2012. It kind of surprised me that it was happening already since I was 39 weeks (even though I know that happens all the time). It came on quick and the whole thing was less than 6 hrs long! Here I am just after getting my epidural from Ralph. Thank you SO much...made me feel MUCH better! I love delivering on the unit that I work on. : )

Here are my two STELLAR nurses (and some of my best friends). Gina on the left, and Izzi on the right. I got both my nurses! How lucky am I?!

Here is my amazing team of care providers. Again, it was everyone who I wanted to be there. Anne Williams, CNM was my midwife that delivered Ryan. Then Gina Wells was my day nurse that "specialed" me and came in at 3:30 am. Then Izzi Desilver was my night nurse that again happened to be at work anyway. How perfect! I felt so loved and cared for.

And here is the first picture of Ryan. He had a little bit of a rough entry into this world. He had a VERY tight nucal cord (wrapped around his neck) and his shoulders would not come out unless they cut it. So he was quite blue and stunned. They had to take him to the warmer pretty soon after delivery and kept him there for about 15 minutes. Then I finally got to hold him. He came around pretty quickly and is a very healthy baby boy.

Ann Lowe's baby shower

I got the blessing of going to Ann Lowe's colorado baby shower at the Grand Lux Cafe at Park Meadow's mall. Very nice and very fun! Great to get some pregnant belly pics with her just in time. : )

THE FATEFUL NIGHT...JUST 7 AND 1/2 HOURS BEFORE RYAN WAS BORN...

Tower of Boxes

Nate was genius to keep all the boxes from Christmas so that Johnathan could build towers with them. He loves knocking them down.

What a cute picture! : )

My last pregnant photo at home (taken by Johnathan!) at 39 weeks.

Playing swords with pregnant Mommy. : ) These are the cool foam swords Uncle Keith got him. He likes to play "knock the sword out of your hand".

Mom and Dad got me a Stomp Rocket! I love it!
