Johnathan's 2 week appointment

So yesterday (8-11-09), our little baby had his two week appointment at the Pediatrician's. He got a clean bill of health and is looking great! He again SHOCKED his parents with his weight. He was 9 lbs 2 oz at his two week appt! I guess most babies regain their birth weight by this appointment (which he had done by his 4 day old appointment)...and he has far exceeded his birth weight! Wow, 9 pounds...no wonder he is feeling heavier. The other funny thing is we kept waiting for his umbilical cord "stump" to fall off, and it finally fell off while we were waiting for the doctor to come in! So yeah, all his things that needed to fall off are gone now and he can officially have a real bath now. He looks good with everything else...the only thing is he has large breast buds, but that is from my estrogen in the milk. I guess it is normal. We like our pediatrician a lot. To finish off the appt, he got his 2 week old Newborn Genetic Screen poke. He tolerated it like a champ. We have a great baby! : )

Having a new Baby

Hi everyone! I'm back typing again (this is Angie). So I can't believe I'm a new mom now!..... "I'm a Mom". Wow, that is wierd to say! So it has been 2 & 1/2 weeks since I gave birth to Johnathan and it has been quite a life change. It is so amazing though and I am so in love with my son. He is SUCH a cutie! He is constantly entertaining us and making us laugh...even as a newborn. He is very interactive and has such a strong neck already, lifting his head way high and looking around. I am recovering fairly well; some things slower than others. It is definitely harder to do ANYTHING when you have a young baby because you are constantly holding them or trying to meet their needs. So doing chores around the house is quite a task these days. My new excitement every day is when I successfully got my shower done! Yeah! hee hee. It is definitely worth the change...I just have to tell myself it is fine to be less efficient right now. Because my family is what is most important anyway. It is a lot of fun and we are adjusting to being parents pretty well I would say. And the birthing experience I had and the memories of my hospital stay was so amazing! Such a wonderful and happy time of my life. Thank you to EVERYONE that helped out...both in the hospital and since we've been home. We have such a great support system!

Johnathan James Pennock

Say Hi to Johnathan James Pennock !
Our apologies for our delay to those of you that rely solely on our blog for family updates we have been very busy for the past two weeks. First and most importantly Johnathan James Pennock was born on July 25th (his due date, now thats prompt !) . He was 7 pounds 15oz and about 20in long. Everything went great and just like her pregnancy Angie had a textbook delivery. We are almost two weeks out now and mother, baby and father are getting use to the new sleep schedule but are doing great ! Theres lots of details about the birth, details best left to phone calls and emails so if you want to hear them contact either Angie or Nathan. For those that are interested his first name is a literal combination of Grandpa (John) and Dad (Nathan). MOST IMPORTANTLY CHECK OUT OUR LINK TO THE RIGHT UNDER SLIDESHOWS AND SEE SOME OF THE BIJILLION PICTURES we have from the first two weeks. Hope you are all doing well.
