Scary allergic reaction

Johnathan today scared me to death. I fed him lunch around 1:00 and I thought to make him "Suddenly Salad" the ranch & bacon kind. I thought it wouldn't be a problem. But about 20-30 minutes later, he starts rubbing his eyes a lot (with food goober'd hands of course) and crying more. So I stop and get him down and after washing him off, notice his eyes are swelling shut and he's got erythema and red blotches all over his face. Ahh! He also suddenly had sneezes and lots of snot coming out.
At first I just thought he had gotten the sauce mixture into his eyes, so I quickly took him to the bath and rinsed his face a lot. He was soooooo sad looking, I almost cried. It kept getting so swollen in his left eye, he almost couldn't see out of it. So I called my pediatricians office and spoke with the nurse and she goes, "Wo!" and sent us in right away to see a doctor. Ironically we were going in anyway at 2:30 for a flu shot for him.
So we got there at 2:00 and of course it was a "hurry up and wait" situation. We ended up not being called back until 2:35 anyway. Kind of disappointing. But before I left home, I had given him 2.5 ml of Benadryl as the nurse instructed, so all his symptoms went away except for the hugely swollen left eye. The benadryl helped a lot. The doctor checked him and said, "yes, the dianosis is allergy". So I wonder what it was in that box that made him do this. Crazy! No more suddenly salad for Johnathan for a couple years! Man that experience freaked me out!

Stroller Bootycamp

I went to a "Stroller bootycamp" class today at Belly Bliss. It was great! It was at 9am and I basically paid $17 for her to kick my ass. She was a tough instructor and kept us moving the whole hour. We jogged, did squats & lunges, ran up hills, did jumping jacks, did abs and arms. I'm not in shape which is why this class was so great. Fun too. There were six mom's & babies there. And it was free for me because I actually had $24 credit left at belly bliss.

Tri-cities, WA trip to see Jen

So Johnathan and I went on a trip to Tri-cities, WA on Sept 4th thru 8th (over labor day weekend) to go see my sister Jen, her husband Eric, and Johnathan's cousins Laura & Leia. There's the 3 kids sitting in their chairs. We had a GREAT trip! Had so much fun on the goat farm. Saw lots of animals and Johnathan loved them all. I got to ride the horses with Jen and my Mom (who came to visit over one night). I flew into Pasco, but Jen lives in Benton City. Got to see Laura head off to her second day ever of Kindergarten. Leia is a whirlwind. My nieces are very cute. I'm so glad I went on this trip.

Both my sisters are pregnant!

In case you haven't heard yet, BOTH of my sisters are pregnant and they are 3 weeks apart from each other! Jen is due April 4th and Rachel is due April 27th. Crazy, huh?! No, they didn't plan it. They both said to me, "Come on Ang. All you have to do is get pregnant and all 3 of us will be at the same time". hee hee.

He's Walking!!!

These are just old pictures of him at Rocky Mountain National Park, before he was walking on his own. But.....

Johnathan JUST started walking yesterday, September 2nd, 2010!!! He's walked with fingers for many many weeks now. But just yesterday, he just decided to let go of a wall and start walking by himself. He took 6 or 7 steps out to the middle of the room, then slumped down. I was SO proud of him! His arms were up in the air and he was just walking like E.T. : ) It was so funny and so cute! Then he did it 3 or 4 more times after that. Even Nate got to see it after he got home from work! So exciting!!!
