Molly's Wedding

Our High School friend Molly Riddle got married here in Denver on Sunday, November 22nd. She married Christopher Wink (went from Riddle to Wink), and that is why the favors were mugs with "Wink Wink" written on it. Very beautifully organized wedding and very relaxed but fancy. It was A LOT of fun. They are a great couple.

Happy Thanksgiving

Here's our happy little elf. : ) He is a growing boy and this is his FIRST Thanksgiving! We are letting him watch the Macy's Day Parade right now. Doug & Eiko are about to come over with their little boy Christopher. We are splitting the cooking items up between us. We are going to play games today and possibly watch the movie "Fletch Lives" after the boys go to sleep. I am extremely thankful for everything in my life this Thanksgiving. I am grateful to God, I am grateful for my amazing family. I am grateful for the pace of my life so far. At work last week, I had a 30 yr old patient that was having her 7th baby!!! Serious! Same age as me and she has 6 more kids than me. Crazy! And even worse than that, at work on Tuesday, I had a 21 yr old girl that was having her 5th baby!!! She started when she was 14 and hasn't stopped since. It was a sad story though. So I'm so grateful for my one healthy boy and my wonderful and amazing husband. And our extended family's! We are grateful that our parents are all with us this year (not physically here in colorado), and continue to pray that John (gpa) will be comfortable. I am grateful that both Nate & I have jobs and that we have our health. I am grateful for our house and our animals. And I'm so grateful for all of our friends...you who are reading this. Thank you so much in following our lives and we hope our paths will cross again soon. Miss all you guys!
Sincerely, Angie Pennock

I'm Jogging Again!

I'm so excited to be jogging again! I still have that 10 lbs at least that won't fall off. So I just bought this fabulous Jogging Stroller/Bike Trailer Combo by Trek. We got it on craigslist because these strollers are normally $500 and up. But we got it from a family here in Denver for only $140!!! What a steal! And it is almost like new. It is very clean, especially after I double cleaned it. And all the wheels and tires roll just fine. It can fit two kids up to 100 lbs! So I was thinking ahead for having our second. : ) But now, Johnathan's carseat fits in it well since he's still a little small for the seatbelts. So I just cinch the seatbelt over the carseat nice and tight and then put the mesh over it and he's very secure. It has pockets on the inside for when he's older and has snacks or toys in there during the journey. I went on my first jog (since I was 24 weeks pregnant!) last Tuesday and it went well! I went out for 45 minutes and I did have to stop and walk a couple times because my heart was pounding and my legs were tired. But I will work back up to it. : ) It will be a hard road but I want to be really extra healthy again by 2 years from now. Way to go Craigslist! And way to go Johnathan for loving riding in a stroller now! : )

Tummy Time

Our little boy is getting even stronger at lifting his head up during tummy time. He seems so ready to crawl but he's not strong enough to lift his belly off the floor. He's so active and he loves his giraffe. Thank you Dena Corwin!

Oh My Gosh...

Ohhh, that is hilarious! I was just looking at my last posting and the last two pictures are hilarious! They are two separate pictures and I totally didn't mean for those to line up how they did. But it looks like one big picture with his upper body and lower body lining up. They are actually really cute by themselves. So click on each one to see them separate. But it made me laugh to see how they lined up. : ) The last picture I wanted just of his hands and feet.

Cute Fall Outdoor pictures

I took these of Johnathan last week when it was such a beautiful warm & sunny day. It was his last time wearing these overalls since he has grown out of them now. These are the same overalls that he was blessed in at church (which he had the huge blow-out diaper in). Very cute today with his paw print onesie under it. He still loves being outdoors and he was smiling away at me. Such a cute little character! I'm so in love with my little boy. And so is Nate!

Johnathan Sucks his Thumb now!

Sunday, a week ago (Nov 8th), Johnathan started sucking his thumb! It is actually very cute at this age. It's kinda funny to see a baby sucking his thumb. But the greatest part right now is, ever since then, he has been SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT! He usually goes to bed between 5:30 and 6:30pm. Every single day last week, he didn't wake up until between 4:30 and 6:00am. So it was about 11 hours of sleep straight each night! I decided to try to start going to bed earlier so I can reap on some of that sleep too. : )

Slept through the Night!

I do believe Johnathan slept through the night last night! He slept from 5:30 pm to 6:55 am! 13 & 1/2 hours! I couldn't believe it. We woke up with me very full of milk and him sideways in his crib. : ) He was a tired boy. But he is healthy and still eating every 2 hours during the day. He wakes up sucking his thumb now so I wonder if that kept him sleeping through the night. I was actually awake at 4 am and kept checking on him after that wondering if he was okay. : )

Went on another Date!

Nate & I got to go on another great date last night! We've been averaging one a month so far. : ) Last night, Doug & Eiko watched Johnathan while we went to dinner and a movie. We went to the movie "Couples Retreat" first. Very funny and beautiful scenes of Bora Bora. Some day we want to go there. : ) Then we went to a nice dinner at C.B. & Potts. I had delicious Pacific Rock Shrimp Fajitas. Yum! Doug & Eiko said it went alright, but there was a time when Johnathan was SCREAMING his head off, crying hysterically. I felt so bad for both Doug & Eiko and my baby. I know the scream that Johnathan does when he is REALLY mad. And it is heart breaking and also painful to the person's ears. He's got a powerful cry. He must have been scared in an unfamiliar place and his Mom & Dad weren't around. Poor guy. But they said both babies napped at exactly the same time and went to bed at exactly 6pm. So they were on the same sleep schedule. : ) I'm glad it went mostly okay.
The pictures above are just of Johnathan playing with his toys. He is really starting to grab toys VERY well and he's now putting everything in his mouth. Very cute. He's also just recently started sucking his thumb!!! Someday maybe I'll get a picture of that.

I too am blessed...

I just read a little from Beka Anardi's blog and was really inspired. She made me think about my life too and how utterly blessed I am. I have an amazing husband who is working very hard to get a higher education to make it so I won't have to work as much while we are raising our children. And we still have so much fun together. And I have an adorable son who is the light of our lives and brings happiness to our every day. He is smiley and good-natured and has a good spirit. I love my boys, I love my family, I love the house we have, and we have many blessings to be thankful for. I too will challenge myself to complain less (if at all), and focus on all the things I do have. Life is wonderful and God is good.

Sleep

Last night, Johnathan went to bed at 5 pm! SO early! At first I thought it was going to be a nap. But he slept from 5 until 10 pm! Then he got up to eat, then went immediately back down to sleep. Unfortunately for me, the rest of the night, he kept waking up every 2 and 1/2 hours to breastfeed again. I was very tired by morning! : ) But his cute smiley face is so worth it.

Bumpo Video

Bumpo seat, we love it!

Here's our new bumpo seat! So cute that he's sitting up with it now! Also is another way for Mom to be hands-free. : )

Polyvisol problem solved

So I was having a problem with giving Johnathan his polyvisol (vitamin D, etc.) every day. Every single time I would put a little squirt of it in his mouth, he would immediately start gagging and then a few seconds later throw up with a bunch of milk in his stomach. It became an automatic reaction. He absolutely hated the taste of it. I don't blame him...it smells horrible! So Nate (he's so smart) solved the problem for me! He told me to mix it with some milk and put it in a bottle. So now I just express some milk into a little bottle, then squirt the polyvisol in there, and then have him suck from the bottle. That way it masks the flavor. Today I did it and he drank it all up, no problem! Yeah, he'll be a healthy little boy still! : )

rolled over

Johnathan rolled over today! I was getting his vitamin's ready and I looked up and he was flipped over onto his tummy! Way to go, growing boy!

Nate's AWESOME pictures of Johnathan

I don't know why some of the pictures from Nate's camera flip back, even though I flipped them on my computer. But anyway, I absolutely LOVE these pictures that Nate took. Johnathan is 3 + months old in these pictures. He is such a happy kiddo and smiling all the time! This is what Nate was doing while I was at work last weekend. He was playing shadow puppets on the wall for him. : )

...more from Halloween

Johnathan looks like a little Ewok reaching out in the first picture. The 2nd one is an adorable shirt that Dad and Teresa gave us. It says, "I love my Mummy".

Nate's pictures of Halloween!

Here's our little baby bear on Halloween. Nate had instructions from "Mom" to dress him in the bear outfit for when the trick'or'treaters were coming. I also gave him the idea of spreading candy around him for pictures. Nate did a GREAT job! What a cute sugar-bear we have! They had fun on his 1st halloween.

More October Storm pics...

October Snow Storm

We had fun dressing our baby in 3 layers of warm-fuzzy's and taking him out in the deep snow. He was a baby bear in the snow (in October!). I think at our house it got up to 13 inches deep.

Puppeteer

Look how cute...Johnathan with his otter puppet!
