Halloween at Work

This year our unit's theme was Hawaiian costumes. We dressed up on Friday, Oct 29th because that's when the Hospital's Boo Bash was. It was fun wearing a hawaiian dress to work (I borrowed it from Aniva, my samoan neighbor across the street).

Amanda Tam's little guy Oliver came to work for the Boo Bash, dressed as a duck. : ) So cute.

Angie's 31st Birthday

We went on a great date for my birthday, the 18th. Molly babysat Johnathan. And we went to dinner at Venice Ristorante in DTC. We researched a bunch of restaurants before settling on this one. This one had amazing reviews and apparently Andrea Bocelli has held a function there at the one downtown. It's gotta be good, right? And it was!
Amazingly delicious food! And the waiter helped us pick our wine just right. I loved every part of the meal. Very nice time together.
Afterwards, we had planned on going to D-bar downtown for dessert (d-bar is dessert bar). But we get there and it was dark and closed. Dangit! Starting that week, they were closed on Mondays! That sucked! So we just went home an hour early since we were stuffed anyway.

Stomach Flu

Like everyone else (I think : ), Johnathan got the Stomach flu in the middle of October. He was soooooo sick. He had it for 4 days, MAJOR vomiting and diarrhea. He threw up everything we gave him. So we started restricting food and milk until he kept pedialyte and water down. Poor boy. We did so much laundry because he'd throw up all over his crib and himself, we'd change the sheets, then he'd do it again in an hour. We almost had to take him to the Children's Hospital ER to get IV hydration. But he started hydrating okay by mouth, so thank goodness we never had to go. We did take him to the doctor one day though. He was so sad when he was sick. He was like a limp wet noodle that wouldn't do anything and could barely stand. He got an extra dosing of cartoons that weekend. We almost had to cancel my birthday date, but he got better just in time.

Communicating & Screaming

Johnathan is hilarious, but is also becoming a toddler! First he did a really cute thing yesterday morning when Nate went to get him out of his crib. It was still dark in his room, and Nate opened the door, and Johnathan happily goes "Momma". Then Nate went "shhhhhh", and Johnathan whispered, "Daddy?". : ) So cute.
Then today at Safeway, I was done and in the parking lot and putting the groceries away in my car. Johnathan was still in the kid seat of the shopping cart. But he was getting a little restless, so he was screaming ever so high pitched! He was doing short high-pitched screams and squeals. Over and over again. So one guy walks out of the grocery store and down our isle and says to Johnathan, "Are you communicating with the seagulls?". : ) Funny, right? Well then 30 seconds later, another big samoan-looking man walks by and goes, "I thought I was at the Ocean"! : ) Hilarious. Made me laugh on the way home. : )

Dad & T's Visit to Colorado!

Angie's Dad and stepmom Teresa came and visited us in colorado from September 11th through the 16th. We had a great time touring around! After the first night at home, we spent two nights in Avon, CO (next to BeaverCreek ski hill) at a time share resort that they traded for. It was a really nice resort (see room below). We spent some time in Vail since we were right by it and toured around the trap. Bought some cute shirts and magnets and had a GREAT outside lunch there. Beautiful weather and fun company!

Country Boy Mine in Breckenridge, CO

We had a fun trip to Country Boy Mine. It was a GREAT mine tour and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Colorado. We went pretty deep into the mine. Johnathan did real well in the Moby Wrap. He wouldn't wear his helmet though.
Dad & Teresa panned for gold afterwards. And Dad & I both got to slide down the big slide (they call it the Ore Chute) down to the parking lot. It's like the grand finish at the end. Very fun!

Denver Zoo w/ Dad

Man Polar bears are tall!

Watching a penguin show.

Look at how long this Grizzly's claws are! Crazy! That would cut you right open.

Last day with Dad & Teresa

There's Nate up in the apple tree. : ) He was getting some good apples down for us. The bottom pictures was them just about to leave for the airport. We had a lot of fun together!

Nate's Dad's Military Memorial

This was in Colorado Springs, CO on September 10th, 2010. Every year the Air Force Academy has a memorial service for every alumni that died that year. So John C. Pennock was honored that day, and Jan, Keith, and Nate all went. They said it was a very nice memorial.

Cute Copier!

Johnathan did the CUTEST thing in the world yesterday! I had gone on a jog with him in the evening (4:30ish), and when we came back to the house, I thought Johnathan would want to walk around outside for a little bit before we came in to make dinner. So he was walking around, and I decided I would keep exercising and do jumping jacks (which he smiled at) and then I did squats. Right when I started doing squats, he started doing squats too!!! It was soooo cute! He was doing little baby-squats. : ) I love how he mimics us all the time now.

These are pictures from our trip to Avon, CO (by Vail) with Dad and Teresa. There was this cute oversized chess set by the hotel.

Johnathan's observing and learning

I'm amazed all the time now how much Johnathan is growing up and becoming a big boy. Today he did the cutest thing. We were out in the side yard where the apple tree is, and he started picking up the bad apples, walking over to our neighbors (don't worry, we know them) garbage pail and tippie toeing up and throwing them in there! He was mimicking what he had seen us do a couple days ago. So cute! And he was helping too!
He's trying to run now. He still trips and falls a lot. But he sure does take off fast sometimes!
In the evening, we went to the park where there's a playground, an he LOVES the slide! He goes down it alone already. Of course there's a parent on each side. But we let him go down alone and he braces himself just fine. And he has the biggest smile on while doing it and then screams with joy once he's reached the bottom. He wanted to do it over and over today.
He's getting smart because he picks up the remote control and points it at the TV and pushed buttons. And now he picks up our keys and walks over to the door and tries to put it in the key hole! He knows where things go now! He's growing up way too fast! : ) We love him so much.
