We had a really rough night last night with Johnathan. It was after our date night for Nate's 31st birthday (Happy Birthday Nate!). Johnathan was at a babysitters house until 10:00 asleep. So we had to wake him up and move him home, which he did pretty well. But then at 2 am, he started crying real hard and asking for us. So we went in his room and tried to comfort him but he didn't want anything. Everything we tried to offer or help him with, he'd reject it and cry louder or arch his back. Even trying to put him back in the crib to go back to sleep, he threw a tired tantrum. We got him back out once or twice. At one point, I said to Nate, "we just need to put him in his crib and just walk out quickly and maybe he'll realize he's tired and just fall back asleep." So just a dim nightlight was on, I put him in his crib, and closed the rail quickly.
Well immediately, he was SO ANGRY at this, he literally (for the 1st time) HURLED himself over the crib rail, falling HEAD FIRST to the ground, but luckily, Nate was close enough he caught him in mid-air. That was the first time he's ever "climbed" over the rail. It was so quick...like a blink of an eye. Very scary moment! We both were like, "Jeese Johnathan, you could have just broken your neck." We were so grateful that Nate was there to catch him.
