Video for Butch

Sorry, this is just a video for Butch's birthday coming up, for my Mom. You can ignore it or watch it, whatever is fine. She just needed it sent, and it was slightly too big to send over email. Tell me if it works, Mom.

Trip to South Dakota: (Crazy Horse)

We took a FABULOUS road trip to South Dakota on Sept 24-26th, 2011. We wanted to go on one more trip as a family before our family changed again and it got even MORE difficult to travel (with more kids). This was Johnathan's first road trip. We probably won't be flying much more at all anymore due to cost of 3-4 people now. We won't fly again until next summer (august to spokane). Anyway, we've always wanted to go see Mount Rushmore. So we finally went!
It is only a 6 hour drive from Denver, CO! So this was the time to go.

Crazy Horse was our first stop and it was really cool to see. They still only have the face done (and a little big of the pointing finger). It is VERY slow going work. We will definitely all be gone by the time it is done.

Johnathan running around in front of Crazy Horse. One of the many funny quotes that happened on this road trip was, "I pooped at Crazy Horse". : )

He said that on his own on the last day of our trip. So funny!

Our Cabin

We got the cutest little cabin in the woods in the Black Hills of South Dakota. It just had these 2 rooms. It was nice having our own kitchenette. We gave Johnathan his own queen bed, which actually worked out really well. He slept in that A LOT better than he would have in the small pack n' play. He's too big for that now. And he loved having his own big bed.

This whole thing was our little cabin. We loved its location and it was only $89 a night.

Bear Country, USA

We went to Bear Country, USA which is right close to Mt. Rushmore. Lots of great tourist things to do in this area. This was one of our favorites! As the sign says, you drive through the wild animals and you have to keep your windows up and sunroof closed at all times. It was SO tempting to roll down the window briefly to get a great picture. But you couldn't. We LOVED being up close and personal with the animals.

Each new animal was only separated by a wide cattle guard. I was amazed the animals didn't just try to take a running leap over it. These were the Arctic Wolves. Beautiful dogs. : )

Bear Country has about 100 bears and 2 grizzlies. That's a lot!
