We are still grieving the loss of two good friends this last weekend. They were both in our Sunday School group at church and we loved both of them. Their deaths were totally unrelated to each other, and it is bizarre that they died one day apart. Kathryn Gilmore died on May 14th, 2011 unexpectedly in her sleep. Her and her husband moved to Kentucky for his seminary a couple months ago. She had come back to Colorado friday morning for her sisters baby shower. She went to sleep that night in her parents home, and never came down for breakfast in the morning. So they went up to check on her and she was deceased in her bed. They don't know why and never will. She had narcolepsy and catoplexy...which she takes 2 pills for. One to help her fall asleep at night, and one to help her wake up in the morning. She takes the 2nd pill 4 hrs after she goes to bed (at 1am) and she never took that 2nd pill that night. Something happened and it is so tragic. She leaves behind the love of her life and her 21 month old boy. We were pregnant at the same time and delivered 4 days apart. So sad...
Then Craig Goldfain died on May 15th, 2011 due to Acute Liver Failure and then complete organ failure. He had served as a missionary for 30 years in Africa and got many diseases there but always came through them. It must have attacked his liver again...and he was in the hospital for 5 days, and they couldn't save him. On Friday morning, he had a cardiac arrest, they brought him back, but he was unconscious ever since and intubated. He passed Sunday afternoon and we will forever miss him. Nate and I loved him so much...almost like a fatherly figure. This has been a very sad week. Please pray for us and their families to heal. Thank you.
ps. That is him holding Johnathan at 4 months old.

So sorry Angie, that is tragic. Try not to think about it next week and just enjoy the beauties of Alaska!
oh my goodness! I'm so sorry Nate and Angie!! Losing someone is so hard. Prayers for ALL the families involved. The first one just breaks my heart.
Dear Ang, I am running a tribute to Craig Goldfain in the Pulpit Rock Church magazine (Colorado Springs), and I was wondering if I may have permission to use the photo you posted of Craig here on your blog. I would crop out your son, so it would just be his image that is printed in the magazine. Let me know--thanks!
Yes, to whoever MangyCat is... you can use his photo.
Who is this if I may ask?
Thanks, Angie! And my name is Dianna. I work at Pulpit Rock. :o) Ruth Knutson wrote the article. You can read it HERE.
