Leaning foward, and, squash. : )

Johnathan is getting one step closer to crawling! He is starting to lean forward on his hands from a sitting position. It's cute watching him try to figure it out. : )
I made acorn squash for him today and he liked it pretty well actually! Fresh warm squash! yummm....fresh vitamin A! : ) It's good for him. With the increase in veggies, yes, we did have another huge blow-out diaper today. : )

Nate's 30th Birthday

Nate should write his own thing about turning 30...I'll try to get him to do it. : ) We celebrated on February 21st (Sunday) because saturday I was gone at work and Nate was home with his boy and also had a big test due on Monday and also all these lab deadlines coming together for next week and he was majorly stressed out. So his actual birthday wasn't very good. But he got some nice gifts the next day. I gave him a fireplace tool set since our fireplace is now done and ready to be used. His parents got him an awesome laser Circular Saw. And Keith (his bro) got him the 4 season set of "Dinosaurs". Does anyone remember that life-size cartoon-like tv show of dinosaurs. Very funny! The baby goes, "Not the Mama!". It's pretty funny but in watching it again, I remember some parts of it really creep me out. Like the live creatures in the fridge that is their "food" and how when they are cooking in the pot, they talk back to the Mama dinosaur. And also their faces (the dino's) are kinda scary. But anyway, Nate had a good birthday on Sunday. I made german chocolate cake for him that morning and brought it to church and we shared it with our sunday school class. They started threatening that they would sing "Happy Birthday" to him and he was immediately rejecting it (of course). But they sang it anyway. : ) Good for them! You have to be embarassed on your Thirtieth birthday! Happy Birthday, My Love!

Our great date...

I forgot to tell you about our wonderful date we went on last week (or 10 days ago). It was a Thursday night and we had our babysitter Kim come over to our house to watch Johnathan. We left at 5:15 and didn't get back home until 10:15. Five hours! It was a nice break with my husband! We first went out to dinner at our favorite place...Banzai Sushi. Yum! Great sushi as always. Then we went to the Imax 3D movie "Avatar". It was unbelievably good! We loved the CGI, the quality of the 3D, the storyline and the beauty! It was SUCH a good movie and I recommend it to everyone. What a neat concept and what a beautiful world they created (pandora). I'm so glad we saw that in the theater.
When we got home, Kim said it went great. She actually had it SO easy! She basically put him to bed (fed him his last bottle then just laid him down). She said he went to sleep at 5:30ish and then didn't wake up the rest of the night. So she got paid $50 for basically 15 minutes of work. Nice! She just got to do her homework at our house (she's in college) while she listened for the baby monitor. What a good gig.

Remote Chewing

We have given Johnathan his own designated remote control (one that doesn't work anymore) because he was always reaching for the real ones and then putting it directly into his mouth (with lots of saliva). So he loves his own remote. He was funny, putting one whole side in his mouth. Dad was copying baby. It looks likes they are producing them! "Pretty cute boys!"

Johnathan is in his new sleep sack, which means he was up at like 8:30 or 9 one night (couldn't sleep). But he went back to sleep an hour later very well. The last picture is cute because he was standing pretty good on his own!

Monday's yoga class

Hi there,
Yesterday there was a record 11 BABIES in "Mommy & Me" Yoga class! It was awesome! So many cute babies and Johnathan just loved it. He is such a social-bug. He was smiling at them all and cooing and happy-squeels. We were a little crowded....but it is just so nice to hear everyone elses little stories just to know that you are not all alone and there are many moms in the same boat at the same time. We sympathize and also share a lot of laughs. And the yoga was great. Although Johnathan is becoming QUITE the Rolly Polly. He kept rolling over to his tummy so he could see better, then he'd roll again and start rolling away from me off of his mat. Very cute though. I'm loving these classes.

Tax Credit!

We finally got it! We just got our $8,000 tax credit for being a first-time home buyer. It was actually a little more than that too! Very nice to have right now. Half of it will go to our Egress window we are putting in next week. And the other half will probably go towards putting in Air Conditioning and a central humidifier in our home. Yeah!

Jan, this is for you...

Hi Jan (Grandma Pennock!),
I had an idea, silly as it may be, to help remind or entice John to drink his water. I first got Johnathan in the cute little outfit you bought him for christmas. Then I surrounded him with full glasses of water. ; ) hee hee

So if you think it's cute, you can print one of these off and have it taped by the TV or sitting by John. : ) Then when he looks at his grandson, he also remembers about the glasses of water and how much his grandson wants him to stay healthy and drink water . : )
